The name of the book is that of the unique and exceptional color of the car that characterizes it from the first glance. The book tells the story of the model and of this car specifically, from the 1954 Brussels Motor Show to the 4th Overall placement at the 1954 Rally di Venezia, testified by photos and contemporary press coverage. Two famous owners: Mike Hawthorn and David Piper. The story includes the phases of careful restoration and is accompanied by high-quality photos and documents.
Extensive archival research uncovered additional documentation on the car’s participation in the 1954 Rally di Venezia, identified further racing appearances near Rome in 1955, and confirmed later public events in the car’s life through newly discovered photographic evidence.
Entirely written in English and generously sized at 250 × 325 mm, it was published in Italy in 2022 in 281 high-quality paper pages. The book’s print run was originally limited and intended for private circulation and distribution.
Following this extremely limited private edition, the book will now be available in its First Edition 2026, produced in a strictly limited series of 100 copies in total.
