The book tells the story of a peculiar Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 B Mille Miglia Berlinetta by Carrozzeria Touring. One of only three known Touring cars with the three vertical chrome strips below the headlights. Ordered by Count Franco Mazzotti, one of the four “Musketeers” who founded the Mille Miglia. The only Berlinetta Mille Miglia among the 2 known Alfa Romeos bearing the “1000 Miglia arrow” badge, indicating ownership by Mazzotti. It features unusual details, such as: pressed-steel rims, different Alfa Romeo emblem, contrasting-colour pinstripes along the body. After a post-war daring story in South America, an early restoration and several re-enactments, it has been restored again to the highest standards and certified.
A distinctive feature of the book lies in its refined graphic design, with textures inspired by the distinctive Mille Miglia arrow badge worn by the car.
Extensive archival research uncovered decisive photographic and documentary evidence of the car’s original configuration, identified through rare 1940 photographs by Corrado Millanta, clarified previously uncertain phases of its ownership between Italy, Uruguay and Argentina, and provided the historical basis for the accurate restoration completed in 2023.
Entirely written in English and generously sized at 250 × 325 mm, the book will be published in Italy in 384 high-quality paper pages.
The book is published in its First Edition 2026, produced in a strictly limited series of 100 copies in total.
Delivery is scheduled for Summer 2026.
