The book tells the story of one of only two Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Gran Turismo “Pescara” spiders by Carrozzeria Touring. The last of the 60 Pescara produced and the final chassis no. among all 6C 2300 Gran Turismo built. Owned by dictator Benito Mussolini, it was equipped with special features requested by him, making it a one-off. It appeared in parades, military reviews and competed in the 1936 Mille Miglia, modified to run on autarchic fuel for propaganda purposes, finishing 13th OA and 3rd in class. It survived the war mostly intact. Present in major Concours d’Elegance and racing re-enactments, it was fully restored and certified.
A distinctive feature of the book lies in its refined graphic design, with textures inspired by the car’s distinctive horizontal hood vents.
Extensive archival research uncovered additional photographic and documentary evidence of the car’s public use by Mussolini, during the military reviews of the Blackshirt legions departing for the East African campaign and clarified several historical contexts of the chassis through period press sources and previously unidentified photographs.
Entirely written in English and generously sized at 250 × 325 mm, the book will be published in Italy in 400 high-quality paper pages.
The book is published in its First Edition 2026, produced in a strictly limited series of 100 copies in total.
Delivery is scheduled for Summer 2026.
